Russian LSE is looking for bright, highly-intellectual and educated members to participate in a Global Cup. University doesn't matter so it means that anyone who speaks Russian can join the team.
The Global Cup is a tournament involving teams of up to 20 students each. The teams are formed by national/cultural societies, who field their teams to represent their countries in the competition. If you are unavailable due to lectures or other work, you can still participate, but sacrifice one or two matches.
The Cup is structured like the World Cup. The teams are divided into groups of 4 teams per group. Each team then has 3 matches, 1 against each of the other teams in their group. Once this 'round robin' is complete, the 2 teams with the best win-loss record from each group advance into knock-out stages.
As the competition is part of Global Week, all the questions must in some way incorporate this theme. Categories at the moment are: International History, International Arts and Entertainment, International Geography and International Sport.
There will be prizes!!! Russian LSE hopes that the biggest prize for you and everyone else will be our victory in the Cup. This is a great chance for you to represent Russia and other the former USSR countries.
In order to sign up, please either e-mail su.soc.russian@lse.ac.uk or fill in the form below:
The number of spaces is limited to 20 students.
